"Hello Nancy :)
I wanted to send you an email and brief you on my idea for my major project so I can start doing research :)
I did a project for Ellen's photography class about Eco-friendly clothing, and I felt that it was a great idea but I didn't have the time to fully finish it for my portfolio.
I want to shoot a advertising campaign for "Eco-clothing".
Now this idea can go two ways:
1) I could design a pretend non-profit environmental awareness company and design a campaign of theirs to promote the eco-friendly habit/lifestyle of seeking out clothing that is made from recycled and renewable materials.
or
2) I could be a company that SELLS eco-friendly clothing and have this be an ad campaign for their specific brand.
Here's the project as far as I got it last year:

Let me know what you think so I can get started :D"
It was suggested to me that I try and find as much data on the subject of recycled material/Eco-friendly clothing before deciding my deliverables and to try and look at the big picture so that my project has a clear and full scope that will look sharp as a portfolio piece and would be capable of being put into real production.
Nancy also mentioned she could show me an example project that another student had produced that was a magazine that promoted similar ideas as what I would like to explore and had a lot of content and was a full fledged project, "cradle to grave" :D.
I am very intrigued and am excited to see the example in school this coming week to get my mind churning with possibilities as I begin my research in search of audience demographic, competitors, and world market statistics.

Hey Briana,
ReplyDeleteI had a hard time finding this blog! The link on Moodle doesn't work...
I think your prototypes look good, it looks like you've designed for your audience and target market well! For some reason some of the images didn't display either - but from the ones that did, I like the typography and colours you've chosen.
Your overview and summary were good - clear and explained your process well.

Hey Briana,
ReplyDeleteGood work on the prototypes. Your background image is great! You'll have to show me how to use the line blend tool in Illustrator... super cool. I think your type choice reflects your audience well. I like the logo you chose but I also like the green logos on the top and bottom right of your examples.Overall I think your direction is clear and your deliverables appropriate.
Good luck,
Jeff
Very well designed for your audience. The treatment of the website was really well done. That being said I really dig your illustrator graphic in the background of the page but would like to see it toned down like 10%. Other then that WOOHOO!

Hey Brinanana,
ReplyDeleteI kind of already gave feedback during your development but I was wondering if you've considered the interactivity of the site, like how the elements will change in different states (hover, click, etc...) and how the background will tile.
Other than that good work, look pretty kow!

Hey Briana, I love your company name and the logo turned out very sharp, though I wonder if the green was a bit more suiting than the blue. The background texture is a big improvement from the bamboo. I think you're going in a really nice direction with an appropriate feel for your audience.
ReplyDeleteHey Briana,
ReplyDeleteThe new design definitely looks more appropriate for an "eco" product website.
I actually think having the sale price a different color helps draw attention to the item. Maybe green just wasn't the best color, but perhaps a darker version of the coral-ish color of the background?
- Jen
I agree with Jen, the new design is way more effective! well done!
